Best place to buy a mattress?

We bought a new bed frame and nightstands today and need a new mattress. Don't need box springs since it's a platform style bed. Any suggestions on a good place to buy from? I've been seeing commercials for Sleep Country's end of the year sale. I think we just want a comfortable standard mattress, not a tempurpedic.

Re: Best place to buy a mattress?

  • We bought ours from Sleep Country about a year ago. Although we got the full set, it is not a tempurpededic and we got a great deal on it.
  • We bought a sleep number bed and love it. ?It would work well with a platform bed. ?They have an amazing warranty and are really comfortable.
  • cool, thank you both for the recs!
  • Sleep Country and Macy's were side by side when we were shopping and we ended up getting ours from Macy's. The price difference wasn't huge and we liked (read: trusted) the sales staff at Macy's more. We got ours on sale and opened a Macy's card at the same time so got a good discount.

    Happy shopping! ;)?

  • We ended up finding a much better deal at Costco than anywhere else. We got a beauty rest mattress and it was an awesome deal.

We shopped sleep country and they flat out said there was no way they could compete with Costco's pricing. You may want to check them out while you are looking.

  • Great, thanks everyone! My SIL has a Costco membership so I will check there too. I looked online at Macy's and it looks like everything is sold as a set so I was going to call them today to see if they just sell the mattress by itself. thanks!image
  • I bought a good mattress at JC Penney Southcenter. ?

  • we got a great tempurpedic type one from costco online, but they had a slightly lesser model at their costco home store - so maybe check them out.
