I have a very light beige canvas sofa and love seat. I have not allowed my dogs on them. With a new baby in the house, I lost track of my Dane and found her on the couch the other day. She left a black drool spot on the couch and some dirt spots from her paws.  I didn't realize canvas was so hard to clean!!! My initial attempts have failed miserably.

I bought Blue Magic upholstery cleaner, but wanted to see if anyone has had success cleaning a canvas couch before I proceed. Any tips??

Re: Canvas

  • I have no experience in cleaning canvas furniture.  Google turned up cleaning canvas patio furniture, but I think it would be the same. It was pretty standard, use a mild detergent, test an area, etc. The one caveat seemed to be that you just let it dry on it's own, no heat.  If you can take the covers off, that would be easier to do. If not, be careful not to soak it too much, so the stuffing doesn't get soaked and have a hard time drying.

  • you should try alpine specialty cleaning , they do a great job at cleaning furniture .. they cleaned my pets stains on my couch and they also made the couch smell great
