Vet jobs...where to look or back to active

My husband went into the Army right after high school. He was just enlisted and was forced to retire thanks to some reenlistment idiot in FT Bragg... any how grudge aside! Civilian world has been a horror show. it has been 2 years!! with 2 kids so him going back to school for some civi certification is a no!! where are the best places to look for a job for a vet with nothing but military experiences. Also, what about going from reserves to active... he has 2 MOS's I think things have changed but he was 91B (light wheeled mechanic) and 31B (MP) he is soon going to be E5.(with in the next 2 months!) I assume it wouldnt be hard having both MOS behind him, and he will be going to another school soon, but could he simply reenlist and obtain another MOS? whatever he can to get back in?  idk who else to ask, I know I am asking a long shot but my husband seems to think it is mucho hard. but I am losing hope!! for the 2nd time since he has gotten out of the army we are having to move back in with my parents because of a lack of a job. (never fired, he had to little of income for a year[just barley enough to pay our bills [lucky us, my parents didnt charge rent or anything, we would not have been able to pay],finally landed a good job working at the coal mines in WV, then laid off because the owner wouldnt pay for coal) aka Civilian world sucks for some one who has nothing but a military background and no schooling! help please!

Re: Vet jobs...where to look or back to active

  • With draw downs and force reductions, it is very hard to go active from the Reserves right now.  I'd have him look into available AGR jobs.  Those are jobs where you are still in the Reserves, but work full time.  It's best if he is will
