Anyone ever deep fry a turkey?

I am considering doing it that way this year, any helpful tips or suggestions?

Re: Anyone ever deep fry a turkey?

  • 1) put turkey (in it's wrapping) in the fryer. Fill the fryer with water to cover teh turkey. Remove turkey. Mark how high the water leftin the fryer is. This is how much peanut oil you'll need.

    2) make sure the turkey is fully thawed or it becomes a missle.

    3) dont fry it inside or anywhere near a house/car etc... something that can start on fire.

i heard these on the radio this morning. have fun!!

  • If you want to add any flavor to it, you can do that by injecting the flavor into the turkey. Rubs won't work. Injecting flavors like garlic & rosemary is yummy
