LK is already starting the sleep battle with me and it's only 12:30. So far i have heard her cry out randomly about 5 times. I gave her a paci once and put more teething oil on her gums but she is still in the room cooing. When i go in there she is just laying there (so far. She may try to wake up more later). She isnotcrying out in pain, it's not a hungry or a scared cry. She just wakes up and makes the sort of noises that would be adorable at say, 3 in the afternoon. Not so much in the middle of the night. If i ignore her, she just gets louder which is inconvienent since she and Z share a room. :/ Any suggestions? PS, please ignore typos, I'm typing on my nook. :)

  • See, I would ignore everything unless she's crying, but that's pretty tough to do since they share a room. Can you have z sleep somewhere else or put her in a pnp somewhere for a few nights to.see if ignoring her arid the babbling? I think that's pretty normal around this age though.

I guess we can set the pnp back in our room for a while.  I was just really excited that she was sleeping in her crib in their room rather than our room.  I don't know if what's waking her up is the teeth, or what.  I agree that if she's cooing I should really just leave her alone because she needs to figure out how to get herself back to sleep.  If she's not in pain or hungry there's really nothing I can do.  I'm just stressing because I don't want her to wake Z up.  She's probably feeding off of my stress, too.

  • I would just ignore her unless she is in distress. I doubt she would wake Z up just by cooing, unless he is a just a super light sleeper.

  • When PJ does that I just ignore it. When I first started ignoring it he would be up for a while, now he usually goes back to sleep after just a few minutes.

If she's not actually waking Z up I would probably just roll with it. If his sleep is actually being disturbed, maybe you can give him some earmuffs or teach him to put a pillow over his head to drown it out?
