    Both.

I made soft pretzels and sent them out.  I'm waiting to hear if they made it in an edible state.

  • I always send some type of granola bar.  H really likes the Cliff builder bars.  Other things I usually send are beef jerky, rice krispie treats, fruit snacks, oatmeal packets, and other stuff.  For more "real" food I'll do hickory farms cheese and/or sausage an a box of crackers.  Basically anything that is properly sealed and won't really break I will send and it makes it no problem.

  • The brownie bites at costco always held up well.  H floved those.  Also, macaroons from whole foods ship well.

  • I send nuts, beef jerky, trail mix, gum, summer sausage, crackers, canned fruit, snack pack pudding, chips and salsa (I found snack size portions in plastic cups by ChiChi's), tuna.  Basically, if it is prepackaged and not glass or aerosol, I send it.

  • Those tuna and cracker packets would be good. Dried fruit.

E's mom used to send cupcakes un-frosted and a can of frosting. E said that was always great because even if the cupcakes were bad by the time they got there you got frosting and frosting is always great.

  • H really likes healthy snacks since the grab and go usually only has candy. I send him protein/ fiber bars. Dried fruit like others mentioned. H loves sunflower seeds so I usually send those as well.
