Recommend your volumizing mousse please

I just bought Redken Guts 10 and for some reason it's awful for me :( I've heard such raves about it and had such high hopes... it doesn't give me much volume (I do it the way Veronika does on her blog) and when I wake up in the morning, my hair is extra flat and dirty feeling at the roots.

Prior to that, I was using Tresemme, which I liked ok but didn't love. That at least gave me volume and I could go 3 days w/out washing my hair if I used it.

I have long hair, thin but a lot of it. Any mousse recs please?

Are you saying that you apply it and then let your hair dry naturally or do you blowdry it right after?

I do not find my hair gets greasy fast using it, but you should try to spray your roots with dry shampoo right before bed to prevent oil buildup overnight.

sorry it didn't work for you :( I used to use Garnier Fructic XXL volume thickening mouuse and liked it (but not more than Guts 10)

I apply it to my roots, then I blow dry with my head upside down for a little, then use a large round brush to blow dry. Sometimes I use large velcro rollers after, but not too often.

It doesn't make my hair oily or greasy at all...just flat (in the morning after I sleep on it) and ... I don't know how to describe it, yucky feeling at the roots... not sticky, but tougher to run a brush through it. It doesn't matter how much or how little I use, same thing happens. I don't know if maybe it's too heavy for my fine hair or what the deal is?? I'm really disappointed because everyone I've ever heard talking about this stuff seems to love it, so I was so excited to try it!
