Anemia in kids?

Ryan had to get bloodwork done for allergies and his CBC came back showing that he was slightly anemic -- no other issues.

He is pale, always has been, and he doesn't eat very much.  So it makes sense.  I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and what you did to "treat" it.  I know meats and green veggies have iron . . . anything else?

Also can you rec your child's multivitamin?  Ryan has them but doesn't usually take them . . . our fault . . .

Re: Anemia in kids?

  • my son had it slightly too- after his 1 yr old bloodwork. We upped his meats and veggies. At the time we just did the Enfamil multivitamin drops. Six months later we did the bloodwork again and he was fine. I wouldn't worry much. I'm sure he'll be OK. I too wasn't surprised because my son is very pale too and eats like a bird as well.

  • We use prescription vitamins. They have everything we want and work out cheaper.  You can ask his Dr.

  • Reilly is, we have to give her supplements. Good luck it hasn't been a big deal for us!

Im most worried that we are going to have to do bloodwork every year now . . . What a total nightmare that was!  It's been 36 hours and I am still recovering from the trauma.  Lol.
