Since we are almost dead....

I think it is a good time for an update post.  So what is going on in your life?  House, job, family, etc?

Re: Since we are almost dead....

  • Our exciting news is that we are expecting our first baby in July (July 29th).  DH and I are both really excited, but it doesn't quite seem real yet, I'm not showing at all yet and I haven't felt any movement.  We did see the baby moving on a ultrasound last week and that was pretty freaking cool!

We are planning a complete gut job of our bathroom sometime this spring/early summer.  Our house is so old the bathroom wasn't orginal and was kind of slapped together over the years.  We've done a little work (replacing the sink, putting in an exhaust fan, new light, new floors) but we are tearing it all out and starting over.  I am thrilled.  I am sick of showering in a clawfoot tub and definitely want a new tub when our little one is old enough to play in the bath.

  • You probably won't feel anything for several more weeks.  Everyone is different though.

I first felt a little movement (fluttery stuff) at maybe 17 weeks.

     Congrats!!!!

  • christie - congrats!! Great news!

I check here every once in awhile, but really looking more on TB for baby stuff anymore. Life revolves around the LO for sure. Plus there's really nothing exciting happening w/us. I went back to work a few weeks ago, and it was time. I don't think I could've handled staying home any longer, and I hit a rock bottom stage a few days before I went back. I was so depressed, and she was super fussy/not sleeping/spitting up all the time which didn't help. But now that I'm back working, I'm in a much happier. I am sad that I don't get much time w/Colette in the evenings, but I know she gets good care during the week and cherish the weekends when we can cuddle.

Miss Coco is 11 wks and doing great - she's more smiley now and responds to things, and has been sleeping really well the past few nights. Nursing is still going good, though pumping at work reeeally sucks. She's just so darn cute, I want to eat her up. Our evenings after work are hectic, and we're adjusting to our new "normal."

DH is still at his job, same old. I'm officially an aunt, SIL and her husband had their baby boy yesterday! We talked about moving; it will be awhile though, and it's something we agree on. I miss working out, I just can't find time right now.

I tried reading Breaking Dawn and got to 3/4 way through and gave up. It dragged on and on, and I couldn't take it anymore, so I had a friend tell me the ending. It doesn't seem like I missed anything by not finishing it!

Here's a recent pic of Colette:

  • I think I was actually past 20 weeks before I felt any movement, but was definitely showing before then!

My life is Stella and my job.  That is it.  Seems now that I have a baby, my friends have forgotten about me (sad that that would happen at my age).  Stella is at a really fun age...she just hit  7 months last week and her personality is really starting to shine through.  She is sitting unassisted now and I fear crawling is right around the corner...if only she would sleep through the night.  I should also note, that while Shannon has an early bloomer, Stella still is showing no signs of teeth.  Still!

Work is so very busy.  Extremely busy.  Like no end in sight non-stop busy!  That's a good thing...but holy hell is it exhausting when I don't get much sleep at night!

Good luck on the bathroom remodel...I am STILL waiting for ours to be done!

  • YAY babies!!! Congrats on your pregnancy! Crimson & Brandy - yours are both SO cute!!!

I am studying for NCLEX and freaking out about it. I started applying for jobs in Columbus and once I get one I will be making the move down there with the girls. Scary but exciting. Speaking of ... they are growing like weeds! They really are my life and I couldn't be happier about that.

That's my life in an nutshell right now.

  • crimson - she's adorable!!!

    christie - congrats!!

me - same old, same old.   still doing the 2 job thing, j is still looking for a new job, no "baby talk" going on...yet, and that's my world in a small nut shell.    lol

    Kris....I'm finally a Mrs! 10/11/08
  • DH was laid off last Thursday. He's been home a week and we're driving each other crazy already. We're still trying to sell the house. Kids are keeping us busy. Nothing too exciting going on with us
  • R has been laid off two months now, it's so annoying that there are zero IT jobs in this area.  But if you look south, there are PAGES of jobs.

Kids are great, H1 loves school and soccer and turns 7 this month (what!)... H2 has been getting in trouble at preschool but we're getting a handle on that now.

We are launching a website next month for gamers, PM me if you want some details :)

Oh I know not to expect anything just yet.  Those girls on my birth month board on TB make me crazy.  I think everything is going just as it's supposed to, but they are all feeling movement at 9 weeks, finding out what the sex is at 14 weeks, it just makes me a little nuts.  I should just stay away from there.  That is why I need more entertainment on this board!!

You know, over the years, I have heard so many stories about the nastiness on the bump boards that I was really leery about going over there when I found out I was pregnant.  Luckily, my birth month board is actually a pretty decent group of women so I definitely frequent it.  I guess it has become my replacement for this board.

First off, congrats on being pregnant!!  The craziness on your board will only get more so you have your baby.  Then everyone is competing to see who's baby will develop the fastest.

Pretty much everything is the same here for us too.  I am in the second half of the school year, which is unbelievable to me.  It has been neat to see the progress of my students!

Cara is growing way too fast!  We had her 9 month check up today!  She weighed 17 lbs, 6 oz and was 28 inches long.  That put her in the 65th percentile for height and 30-35th for height.  She is trying to perfect crawling, but her prefers to hold our hands and walk around the house.  She also has a little stroller she likes to push around.  We think we have heard her say "doggy" twice, but she is mainly babbling right now.  She is sleeping well for the most part now, and she can fall asleep on her own.

C is busy too.  He has been working a good amount of overtime lately.  We also just purchased a Honda Pilot from some family friends.  I went from driving a small car to driving that, which is huge.  I am grateful for four wheel drive now though!

We are going to be going to Colorado this spring too, which I am very excited for!!

    Our baby girl!!
  • I wish I had a better update.  H & I are still going thru with the disolution, but we are getting along.  Truthfully - anyone who met either one of us might be confused about why this is happening.  He genuinely (sp?) seems very concerned about me and that I'm okay.  I just feel like it's not your typical marriage ending split up - that's for sure.  Every once in awhile I get the feeling that maybe he doesn't want this, but I think it's more wishful thinking on my part.  I still love him thru it all and just wish he felt the same.  I'm not sure where to go from here.  I seriously didn't ever feel like looking at anyone else after he came into my life.  About a month after he divulged to me that he wanted to end the marriage I did get on one of those internet dating sites just to see what was left for people my age (late 30's) - I did find somebody from my hometown area that I liked way back when - but H still attracts me more than him.  I guess I'm feeling kinda defeated now.  Where do I go from here.  He took a job in Auburn Hills, MI, btw.  So now I barely even see him.  I did see him last w/e tho - he asked if he could stay at the house over the w/e, which I thought was weird since it's technically his house in his name.  Maybe that's why I've been feeling so sad lately.  In December he evidently was under the impression that I wanted a divorce and was going to take him for everything he had - so he retained a lawyer for $3,000.  I've been telling from the get go - we need to go for a disolution - we can get thru this w/out fighting over everything.  The lawyer he retained, he told me was some sort of big 'bulldog' divorce lawyer who came highly recommended.  I have his family to thank for talking him into doing that.  Why they thought I was like that - I have no idea.  I was actually afraid to meet with him after he said that.  What was he going to do bully me into signing something I didn't agree with?  I met with him last week and he actually seemed to be a fairly reasonable guy.  H actually called me after the meeting to make sure I was okay.  It gets so confusing when he is so nice and caring like that.

Not that everything in my life is bad - there is some good things going on.  On a good note - I decided to stick around here.  I just signed a lease for an apt last week.  Of course, I don't move in until April - but I feel like it's going to be good move.  I hope I'm making the right decision on signing a lease - H told me I could live in the house as long as I need to, but there are just too many memories there and I just don't feel like I'm going to heal by being there.  Please pray for me if you do - I feel so lost sometimes without him.  I often wonder where my life is going to go from here.  I just thought he'd be the one that I would grow old together with.

  • I am late to the game... but things are going well for us. Ella is getting big, she is starting to talk a little. She is almost 16 months now. We have to go tomorrow for her 15 month shots, I am not excited. :(  We got back from Arizona this past Wednesday. The trip was great, I miss my sister but it's nice to be home. I told DH when we got back that we had too many nights and not enough days there.

We have decided to start looking at new houses soon. We already checked out Chase's bosses house because he was offering us a heck of a deal, however it was a bit too much space for us and needs a little too much work. I am super excited to house shop, but also kind of nervous. Since I am not working much we don't have too much extra cashflow, so I fear the bigger mortgage a bit.

  • Congratulations on being pregnant!  How exciting!!

I would have put this in its own post, but since we have an update thread already going, I'll just put it here. :)

You ladies know how long M & I have struggled to get out of this huge rut we have been in with jobs, etc.  If you are friends with me on FB you already know this, but Matt was FINALLY offered a full-time, good paying job with benefits, 401K, etc last week!  He accepted it and put in his notice at his 2 part time jobs.  We've been fighting for this for so long and while this new job isn't a total dream job, it WILL enable us to finally start having a life.  So let the house hunting and trying for babies begin!  One step at a time though... :)
