Bachelorette Party Ideas- Traverse City

Hi Ladies,

I am down here in Detroit and am planning a party in Traverse City.

I think I have found a cottage to rent, but if anyone knows of a place I would love the information.  Also, we are planning a wine tour for the day on Saturday.  I think I found a shuttle service, but again any advice would be great.  And finally, I am looking for a decent restaurant for all of us to go to and then a bar to go out to in the evening.

Thanks for any information you can help me with.   :)

  • The boards are kind of quiet this week with the holidays. If you don't get an answer today, you may want to check back next week. I know of one person that should be able to help you, but is off this week.

A shuttle service is a great idea for the wine tour.  I've been to two culinary tourism events this past year and I know there have been several mentions of great places to eat in TC, I just can't remember their names.  Maybe WendyGR can help direct you to places or food blogs that review resturants.

  • Thank  you!  I will keep checking back.  I am so excited about the wine tour!

  • I've heard this place is nice. It used to be the old state hospital, in fact, I googled TC old mental hospital, to find the website.

There are shops, eateries, and  wineries in there.

  • How fun to have a bachelorette party in TC!  I think a shuttle service to the different wineries sounds perfect.  I think there are only 3 shuttle services up there and all charge similar amounts.  What kind of restaurant are you thinking of?  The Village is a neat place, but from what I can remember the only restaurant there is Trattoria Stella, which is upper scale but delicious!  The Village used to be the old asylum so its a little creepy, but fun to visit.  They have two tasting rooms there as well.  Red Ginger is one of our favorite restaurants. They serve sushi and asian fusion.  North Peake Brewery is very good and inexpensive, and also nice to change it up if the girls are sick of wine and want beer.  The Blue Tractor is also really good, but is in Old Towne.  I think they turn into more of a bar scene in the evening as well.  Have so much fun!

Stella's is great.  There is a restaurant at Turtle Creek called Bourbon 72 (I think) that has great food and it's not that far out or town.

  • The Apache Trout Grill is good for dinner.  I also like North Peake.

MH, my friends and I like to go to the Loading Dock for night life.  They typically have live music there.  It's pretty low key.  I think Union Street (more downtown) is fun.  They have live music a lot of nights as well.
