any technical writers/editors on the board today?

i'm editing a proposal and i'm not sure how to proceed with example below.

XYZ company will recommend/implement the following:

- Blah, blah blah. More blah blah blah.

- Even more blah, blah blah; and

- Finally, more blah blah blah.

question: should the first bullet be manipulated so that it ends in a ";" or is ending in a period wtih the first bullet and then a ";" in the second bullet okay?

thanks!

ETA: would it be acceptable to end the second sentence in the first bullet with ";" ?

  • I believe it should be:

    - Blah, blah blah;

    - More blah blah blah;

    - Even more blah, blah blah; and

    - Finally, more blah blah blah.

  • Does your company have a style guide? If so, start there (albiet you've probably already thought of that).  Personally, I would do:

     XYZ company will recommend/implement the following:

    - Blah, blah blah.

    - Blah, blah blah.

    - Blah blah blah.

    Or, make it a paragraph.

    XYZ company will recommend/implement the following: blah, blah blah. More blah blah blah. Even more blah, blah blah. And finally, more blah blah blah.

    P.S. Can you eliminate the slash in the first sentence by rephrasing?
