T-shirt quotes

If you were the type of person to wear a t-shirt with a quote on it, would you want it to say who the quote was by? Say for instance the quote was "I don't do fashion, I am fashion".

Would you want it to say -Coco Chanel so people weren't asking you all the time? Or would you not care because 1) you bought the shirt because you like the quote and don't care if people know who it was or 2) you want it to be a conversation piece?

Sorry this is very generic. Haha. I promise I have a reason.

Re: T-shirt quotes

  • I personally don't wear shirts with quotes (I do have a couple printed by a local artist with sayings that go with his art, though) but this could go both ways. I feel like some women would prefer the origin of the quote noted- especially if it's from a fashion icon, but it's very "hipster" to leave it ambiguous. Then you're cooler than everyone who has to ask who said it, right? LOL

  • My husband said the exact same thing about it being "hipster", lol.

btw these would be t-shirts with my art and fashion/beauty quotes :)

  • Are you making shirts for someone?

I would probably want the name of the person at the bottom.  I can't think of a quote that I would wear, but I think it's the same as if I was wearing a famous photograph or painting on the front of my shirt, I'd want the credit at the bottom...does that make sense?

Yeah that makes sense. I think I will credit the author on the shirt somewhere in some artistic way. It started out because there are a few shirt ideas I have that I want to wear and my husband said I should try to sell them.
