1) Black Friday was worth the hassle because we got a wireless headphone set for the bedroom for $15. And it works. Our marriage is saved.
2) We purchased a mini blender thingy and I've been doing smoothies for breakfast for the past week or so. I love it. I've perfected my frozen mixed berry smoothie and am attempting a chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie tomorrow morning (or maybe for dessert tonight....). Have any favorite EASY (I have to stress EASY) smoothie recipes that you love? Also, I'd love to have a smoothie for lunch, but I'm betting they don't keep well if they're made in the morning and then left to sit in a classroom fridge for 4 hours. Am I right or just silly?
Re: Random: Sleep and Smoothies
1) Hooray!
2) I like to do banana/milk/caramel sauce smoothies too. I almost always throw in a handful or two of spinach. It sounds gross, but you don't really taste it. And, I think smoothies are always better fresh!

Agree on the fresh smoothie thing... why not just take the hand mixer to work with you?
I love the simple strawberry/banana smoothies... buy fruit in bulk on sale and freeze it or just buy frozen fruit. I also like a little chocolate and peanut butter... makes a great Reese's smoothie... add some protein and you've got a meal!
I used to have a magic bullet but it wore out (I made a smoothie up to 3 times a day when I was pregnant, just a touch overkill lol)... so instead of spending the money to get a new one, I got lazy and started putting the frozen berries into a glass and pouring orange juice over them haha. It is surprisingly good, and I like the texture a lot better.
Obviously not what you're looking for, but that's what I do lol

We bought a blender on Black Friday too. Ours is so loud though, Reg growls at it when I turn it on in the mornings. hahaha
Glad you're marriage is saved by the amazingness of head phones!
Now we can hang out again and Jon and Lincoln can bond and make inappropriate jokes!

I found this on pinterest and thought it was a great idea:

I add a tablespoon or so of Wheatgerm to my smoothies too to up the protein content.

2. To me, the trick is to use all frozen fruit. I like the smoothies to be really thick and creamy, which is possible if you aren't adding ice. I consider milk and a frozen banana and a tablespoon of honey a good "base" for smoothies. I like them plain like that, but I also regularly add frozen blueberries or strawberries. I also add frozen baby spinach to just the banana or the berries and banana.
In the past, I've done peanut banana (which had to stop when peanut butter gave me wicked heartburn). And I've done a chocolate banana by adding a cup of fat free jello pudding.
I can tell you for 100% certain to never add lime anything to a smoothie. Worst. Idea. Ever.
I want to try oranges, but after the lime fiasco, I'm skeptical of citrus.
