May this woman rot in hell. (sad)

CNN Video (not graphic) Here

A 22-year-old Dallas mother has been charged with 'excessive' abuse after allegedly beating her 2-year-old into a coma.  The child abuse report includes charges of dragging the toddler by her feet into the kitchen, gluing her hands to the wall, and hitting her in the stomach with a jug of milk.

Who does that?! If you are that upset & close to abusing your kids why not call for help? A neighbor, friend or someone-- if you feel like you are going to harm your kid like this. What a psycho!

  • I cannot comprehend how someone could do this.

  • I saw this on the news this morning. That poor baby.

This.  Even more so now that I have a child.  I look at him and ... cripes, I feel guilty if I get stern w/ him, or take a toy away because he isn't behaving!

I just can't imagine HITTING my child and the look that I would expect to see in his eyes as I did.  Children are just so truly innocent in every meaning.

It's just truly unfathomable to me.

  • Happy news though, the little girl was released from the hospital about a week later.   She spent two days in a coma, but has recovered and is now in foster care.

The mother?   22 years old and has 4 children.  FOUR!   She was ordered to take parenting classes in 2007.   When she was 18.   Good lord, someone needs to put a chastity belt on that woman and throw away the key (a la Robin Hood Men in Tights).

  • I'm glad that little girl is back to physical health, I hope she's getting help to heal the psychological and emotional scars.

I can't even imagine what would drive someone to that point. That woman needs to be prison for a long, long time.

  • I can't either.   The look (and subsequent face crumble) when I take away one of his toys practically has me begging for forgiveness.   God, I'm such a softie.

I cannot imagine beating a child (a child who loves you even if you're a monster) and having them cry and look at me with fear.   I just cannot imagine how people can do it.

I also hope she spends the rest of her reproductive years in prison, but most likely not.

This is the $hit that makes me wish we could regulate pro-creation.

Did everyone else miss the part about her being pregnant with number 5? It said she's still in her first trimester.

How sad and disturbing.  She shouldn't be allowed to have anymore children with the way she treats the ones she already has.

  • See, this is when I wish we could force sterilization.  You can't take care of your kids & you abuse them?  No more for you!

One of the boys I used to work with had something like 12 or 13 brothers and sisters because his mother would get pregnant with another one as soon as possible after CPS removed the one she'd just had.

The psychological scars these children will be left with make me so sad.  I work with this kind of thing every day and it never gets easier.  Having a teenager recognize that they were horribly abused and that's why they don't trust anyone and get angry and reactive when someone tries to attach to them is heartberaking.

This makes me so sad. I can't imagine being young and wondering why you're not like other kids or feel the same way about things as other kids your age.  Then realizing that the person you thought was supposed to love you unconditionally was the one that beat you and made you feel worthless and messed you up.

I think it's even sadder when they don't realize it's not normal.  Or when they say they acted like demons or that they're evil.  The amount of negativity these kids have internalized about themselves always makes me angry at the people who gave them those messages.  Seeing them start to believe good things about themselves is so worth the difficult parts of the job, though.

When my DS comes home from school and tells me about kids who do things that are so far off from normal, you can tell which ones have a terrible home life.  I always tell him that he should feel sad for these kids (not to their faces, of course) because obviously they have it rough at home.

It makes me want to give my kid a big hug.

  • That is horrible.  I hope they lock this monster up for life.  That poor baby.  I just don't understand people do this.  They need to be removed from society permanently.
