Confession Time!

Got anything good?

DH and I checked out a new XX-X shop in town for the first time today.  I've been to a few of those, but lemme tell you, I saw some... things... that I had never seen before.  Like an *ahem* that was bigger around and longer than my arm from shoulder to elbow.

I felt like I needed some eye bleach and a bucket of holy water by the time I walked out of that joint.

Re: Confession Time!

  • I'm having a TON of anxiety about this condo purchase. We kinda jumped right into buying and I'm feeling over my head. I know it will all work out but just overwhelmed with the to-do list of this thing. Deep breaths..... it will be ok!

  • I'm the one from the virtual cheating post below. DH and I had sex last night. I initiated (he "knew better" than to try) and it was amazing. Now I'm even more confused...
  • I do our company newsletter and I intentionally put motivational "leadership" quotes under the CEO's column - hoping one day he'll take a hint.

  • I get irrationally annoyed at people who throw around how much older they are like they're the oldest people on the planet. I think especially after the VMAs I saw tons of threads on the nest and FB about how they possibly couldn't know who these people are performing b/c they're sooooooooo old. OMG they're in their late 20s or early 30s, everyone break out the walkers!!

Heaven forbid I ever say something seems like a long time ago to me at the ripe age of 26. I'll get an onslaught of comments about how much looooonger it was for them b/c they're all soooooo old. Get over yourselves. My grandma is not posting on FB about how she doesn't understand the VMAs b/c FB doesn't exist for her! B/c she's old! So much older than you that you can't trump even her oldness!!!

Sorry, that's been grating for awhile now.

    Happiest place on Earth!

  • I love my SD, but man was it nice to put her behind on the bus this morning! I feel like this summer has been insane and I am just so ready to get back to my regularly scheduled program!

  • I reserve the right to DD......

between pregnancy crappiness, post-pregnancy crappiness, general lack of sleep and exhaustion.......it has been almost 10 months since DH and I DTD.  I'm the luckiest woman in the world bc he hasn't gone crazy (left me, cheated) yet.  And by DTD, I'm talking about ANYTHING.  H is a saint.  And I'm still too exhausted to even give a proper HJ.

  • I want to break some therapy out on my in-laws, but I know I can never play therapist with friends/family. The whole situation about this weekend has just gotten insane. None of them are good at articulating what is really going on, and none would listen to me if I told them. Stick out tongue I'm SO not looking forward to this weekend and hope that next DH and I either stay home or stay somewhere else for some space. My MIL is handing out rotating room assignments on Sunday.....awesome.

  • *warning: I do NOT mean to offend anyone with this post*

I was talking to my MIL (who is super religious) about how I believe that, in the eyes of the law, everyone should be allowed to get married.  Her argument was, because homosexuality is a "sin," then it should be against the law.  Trying to explain to her that religion should not rule the law was like trying to explain it to a doorknob.

As she also dislikes my pro-choice stance, I've been considering getting a t-shirt that says I support Planned Parenthood and wear it every time I see her.  Immature?  Absolutely.  But funny.

  • I'm having anxiety about money in general right now. I feel like we always have things come up and can never save enough. We do have retirements accounts and contribute with each paycheck, but our available savings? Not where it should be at all.

We're also underwater on our townhouse by at least $60k, which makes me want to throw up.

I think all of this has been brought on by my sketchy job situation and the fact that DH is reducing his hours at work to get done with school faster. Money seems to fly out the window and doesn't come back. I feel like we'll never catch up. We're both 26, so my family tells me we have plenty of time and once DH is out of school it'll be better. But I don't see it and feel like we're seriously behind others our age (who are currently buying big houses, having kids, taking 2-3 nice vacations per year, and have the latest cars/technology). How do they do all of that? We don't do a lot of those things (we've even cut back on many things, especially recently) and still can't manage to save enough.

    I don't understand!!

  • This is not that juicy, but the Mizzou home opener is on Saturday at 11am.  That  means I will probably make my first drink by 7am.  And I.cant.wait.  Our family is very methodical when it comes to tailgating.  The preparations started last weekend.  The cooler will be packed tomorrow night.  It's all planned out to the last detail and I wish it would just get here already.

Football season is my favorite time of the year.  I love everything about it.  Tailgating, going to the games, watching games on TV, fantasy football, pick 'em leagues.  Everything.

Sometimes things are always what they seem...you never know if the people you are comparing yourself to are in debt up to their eyeballs, are underwater on their house, or maybe are just doing well...  Don't beat yourself up or try to "keep up with the neighbors".  It sounds like you guys are doing all the right things - so just keep it up, keep an eye on what's going on and stay positive.  :-)
