I know this has been asked before. Please forgive me. Having some serious prerace jitters this morning.
I've run 12 miles twice. The most recent was two weeks ago, and before that it was March 27. And it went pretty well. But last weekend's 10 miler was a little brutal. I know there are Nesties who stopped at 10 miles before running a half. Please tell me I'm going to be fine.
Re: What was your longest run before your first half marathon?
12 twice? You'll be fine!!! GL!
(I should add my longest before my first 1/2 was 11.) Just trust your training, focus on not going out too fast, and I think you will have a great experience.

10 miles at race pace was the longest run I've done in preparation for a 1/2. (Don't do that!)
During my upcoming training cycle this fall, I'm going to focus on more volume at a relaxed pace. I plan to go up to 16 on my longest run. We'll see what effect that has.
Topping out at 10-12 miles is pretty standard on most plans. You'll be just fine
Good luck in your race!

I hate you very much
For my first half, I think I got to 10.5 miles and was totally fine.
For my sister's first half, she only got up to 7 miles because of injury, and she was fine too. Not ideal, but you will be a-okay!

My goal is to do 11 once or twice before the race. I'm up to 10 and have done it twice, but I have an injury now so I am not sure how things will go.
Good luck!!! You can do it!
You totally got this thing!!
Before my first 1/2 I ran 2 10-milers. It was a great race!
Conversely, I'm running a 1/2 tomorrow that I've run a long run of maybe (MAYBE) 6 miles. Ha. It's SIL's first 1/2 & I don't know who will be carrying who at this point.
Fun times!
For my first 3 half marathons the longest I ran was 10 miles before the race. You are completely prepared if you have done 12 twice!
Before my 1st half, 7 miles.
In the nine 1/2s since then, it has varied greatly.
