There wasn't a moment for me... it was a slow, logical process, beginning with my rejection of the toothy fairy... it just didn't make sense.  Why would someone want gross fallen-out teeth?  Once i figured out, though, i pretended for a couple years for the sake of my younger sister.  That said, i never believed in the

Do you remember when you stopped believing in the Easter Bunny/Santa/Tooth Fairy/other magical creatures?  As always, bonus points for a story!  My parents didn't even bother to pretend with the Tooth Fairy, probably becuase I didn't start losing teeth until the age of 6.  I decided early on the Easter Bunny/ Santa and my parents were working together, but pretended for my little brother's sake.  I still believe in the "spirit" of Santa, in giving to others.

  • I don't remember. I often think of this to as I have a 13 year old, 11 year old and 5 year old.

I'm quite certain that my 13 year old doesn't believe anymore, but he won't let on.  I think he thinks as long as he pretends to believe he'll still get presents.

  • 1. I have a funny story for this one, my older sister got in trouble for lying to my parents about going to see an R-rated movie. I was listening to her talking to my parents and she said "so what if I lied? You guys lie to Futuremrshuff by telling her that Santa Claus is real!" It totally shattered my world, but now we get a good laugh out of the story.

    2. Favorite color is blue..like Lapis blue.

    1. Do you remember when you stopped believing in the Easter Bunny/Santa/Tooth Fairy/other magical creatures?  As always, bonus points for a story! Yes, I was about 8 maybe 10.  I was big into horses, and had whole bunch of model horses that I played with.  For Christmas, I wanted a specific model horse from a book that the model horse company didn't make.  I of course assumed Santa could make it, he could make anything!  My parents (God bless them), took a model horse and painted it themselves to make it match the horse from the book.  A few weeks later the paint chipped off, and I saw that it was a different horse underneath.  So I didn't believe in Santa anymore, but I did think my parents were awesome Yes

I never believed, at ANY point, in Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, etc. and in fact was blown away that other kids did. My parents made no effort to deceive me.

All through elementary school, teachers HATED me after the subject came up and I would very vocally point out how such things couldn't possibly be real. Like how Santa was in every store, and always looked different. Like at Disney, was it not obvious that Mickey and Pluto were guys wearing sponge-rubber suits... etc. I think I made a classmate cry more than once by telling them the truth. I asked them why, if presents were made by elves in the north pole, did every store have a sale and call it a 'Christmas sale'- were they all trying to lure Santa or his elves into their store? Why did adults talk openly of having to go Christmas shopping? I demanded that the teacher explain flying sleighs and reindeer, and how an old fat guy could not only fit down chimneys but do so all over the world in a few hours, and how a sack that size could hold all those toys (as a child, I didn't even know that not all houses have a chimney). I grilled my teacher mercilessly about Santa's AGE and how much longer he could handle such a gruelling schedule... I know I ruined it for everyomne.

I remember going to a store with my dad, in December, in the middle of the day, and there sat Santa. I was VERY small, pre-school age. My dad went to the pharmacy counter, and Santa tried to coax me over to his lap, as did numerous other adults (grandmother types). Of course, I wasted no time telling them all I did not talk to strangers! I was definitely a very cynical child.
