coming for a visit--Parma area

Hello!

This Saturday, DH and I will be taking a trip up to Parma, and need a place to stay before coming back to MD on Sunday.

Can anyone recommend a hotel in that general area?

Any great places we should check out?

 TIA!

Re: coming for a visit--Parma area

  • Any of the hotels along Rockside Rd. in Independence are very nice. It's a business-oriented area (office buildings, etc.) and easily accessible from I-77. Parma is about 10 min (or less) south. There are many restaurants along Rockside, too. (And a martini bar called Budapest Blond, IIRC.)

What sorts of things do you like to do? The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is very nice if you like to walk. It's pretty spread out. They recently reopened a renovated elephant exhibit. If you like hiking, the CVNP and Cleveland Metroparks are excellent parks with many picnic areas, trails, bike paths, etc. nearby. Downtown Cleveland is about 15 min away -- Rock Hall of Fame, Science Museum, Indians baseball games, House of Blues, Severance Hall (Cleveland orchestra), Art museum, etc. all not far.

A few great restaurants in Parma that you may want to check out include: TayDo for Vietnamese, Aldo's (Italian), Antonio's (great pizza, but wonderful Italian, too -- near Parmatown mall), plus many other casual options if you like Thai (Charm Thai), Indian (Jaipur Junction), etc. All of the ones I mention are casual. If you want upscale, I can rec that, too. Let me know. I grew up in Parma. What sort of visit brings you there?
