Re: first home

  • Buying your first home is certainly a commitment. You want to make sure that you're financially ready to take on the expenses associated with a home. If you're unsure and nervous at this point, it is important to set a budget and figure out if now is the time for you to buy. Take a look at this resource guide for more information and good luck!:

  • I know how you feel! I'm a little nervous about all the payments we're going to have too... you wouldn't believe the number of times we've gone over the numbers together!

I don't know your financial situation (obviously) but I can say that as long as you didn't go really crazy and completely max yourself out, you'll be fine. If you're really concerned, talk to your banker, the person who is taking care of your mortgage approval. He or she will be able to walk you through exactly how much you'll be paying every month and the amount you'll need to set aside for lawyers' fees and things like that.

Other than that, the only advice I can give is to make sure you are regularly keeping tabs on your finances. The more you know, the better you'll feel!

Be smart about your money and don't worry! Enjoy your new home!
