Advice for shaping ivy

I have a  medium size ivy plant on a stand.  It's growing well but I think the strands need to be shaped rather than just dangling.

Has anyone tried to make a topiary with ivy?

Any better ideas?

  • I'm interested in answers for this post as well.

Although I'm having creeping fig issues.  I don't know when I can start trimming.

Wrap and tuck. If that no longer works, cut.
