Hello...I post on here every once in a blue moon, but definitely lurk every few days. You guys seem to be on the up and up about running and I was hoping you could help me.
I signed up for a 5k later this month and have been doing the c25k program. I'm currently on the 4th week for the second time. I am so struggling with the 3min/5min run intervals. I start out okay, but by the 3rd run segment I am just dieing! I feel like my legs are going to give out at any moment, my eyelids feel so heavy like when I am really tired and overall my ability to breath correctly and motivated myself is just not there. My first week doing week 4 I got through all of the segments except the last segment of each day...that segment I would split in half with a brisk walk. Today I did day 1 of week 4 and managed to push myself through it, but I felt like I could just lay down right on the treadmill at the end and take a nap..I know I'm not supposed to be pumped and ready to go at the end, but I also don't think I am supposed to be this exhausted and light headed. I can barely speak at the end of my run..
My question is..am I doing something wrong? Should I lower my speed..eat more...IDK..I am just so frustrated and worry that I am going to truly suffer when the runs get bumped up to 20 mins in week 5.
Sorry this was so long, but TIA for all of your help!
Re: c25k struggles - Longish
Is there any way you could do it outside?
Also, your runs do not need to be fast. My guess is that if you slow down, you'll be able to do it.

You're running too fast.
And you may not be eating or drinking enough.
You're definitely running too fast, though. Take it down half a mph, and you'll be fine.
