Train Time!

k, this is ridiculous, 'cause I'd venture to say that 85-90% percents of this board rides a train every day...but I'm really excited 'cause I'm taking a train tonight :) I'm in Albany right now and am taking a train into NYC tonight for a few days.  It's the first time I've been on a train since I left Belgium back in August and it's the first time I've been on one in the States in something like fifteen years!

Lurve me some trains :)

That would be great! Tuesday is totally open.  Just need to learn how to get into the city from where I'm staying in Williamsburg -- I cabbed it last night 'cause it was so late.  Seth gets in late Tuesday night, so a GTG works out perfectly :D YAY!

I was at Hunter Mountain for work for the weekend.  At the Burton Super Demo Tour for Kodak.  We've been going around the country to ski resorts letting people demo this camera.  Also doing complimentary photos -- guests on a green screen.  Super fun! Next stop on the tour is in Waterville Valley, NH, but I won't be at that one because I have another event to go to in Charlotte.

  • I'm not really not a train person. I like them for abut 10-15 minute short trips but otherwise no. DB is on my poo list at the moment. We had a major delay today on a train when there was a possible bomb on a track. I get that delays happen and that doesn't bother me. Stuff happens and you can't foresee it. But shouldn't you have a well thought out plan B in case you have problems. We got off the train and then crossed the street to where a bus was suppose to drive us two hours to a different station. Except none of the DB officials new what to do or what was going on. A coach bus arrives but there are not enough seats. DH had to cross the street and go back to info and be like you still have 11 people waiting out there. Eventually 20 minutes later two taxis arrived for the rest of us. In the end we only arrived an hour late but if I didn't have my husband doing everything and I had to relay just on my English I would of been stranded an confused. Anyways DH and I had a two hour long cab ride all to ourselves on the DB dime. 130 euros. lol
