The Husband very gently approached the subject of my last batch of chili. He said it's been too spicy lately and that he won't be eating it this time.
I thanked him for his honesty. I was impressed he actually said something.. normally he would say something was fine, then refuse to eat it and it would go bad in the fridge.

baahahaa that is good he is honest.
I always know hubby didn't like what I cooked when he says...
"Maybe next time you could...."
lol
mmm I love spicy food. Send some my way!
Marc recently criticized my cheesy mashed potatoes...but he only told me when I was making them again because I thought he liked them. He never told me that they weren't that good the first time I made them :P

D is like a gormet chef in the kitchen, so I don't even really try. If I cook something, he always eats it, but the meal always ends with me asking "Ok, what do I do differently next time". Then he'll suggest a few things and I'll try them the next time. I've only gotten, "nothing, that was perfect" twice. But I'm also kind of a sucky cook.

Well, I suppose it's rather noble of him to tell you, and to approach it gently. And very nice of you to thank him and still assume you'll continue to cook.
MH can't win. He criticizes, I won't cook. I cook and he doesn't eat it / chokes it down, I get mad at him for not telling me. You and your H are much more mature.
