I just got a phone call from my mom. My dad was out walking the dog, like he does every day. Apparently, he passed out while walking the dog, and hit his head. He's not sure how long he was unconscious, but my Mom said he was gone about a half hour before he came home. Eventually he came to, and managed to get up (which took awhile, because he had knee replacement surgery and has a hard time getting up off the ground), and walked home with the dog. He had cracked open his head and there was blood everywhere, so mom took him to the doctor.
The doctor said there wasn't a concussion or any brain damage, but that my Dad's heart rate was still dangerously low. They tried to get him into a cardiologist today, but he wasn't in. The soonest they can get him in is on Monday. The doctor said they might have to put in a pacemaker.
If you have any to spare, some T&P for my Dad would be greatly appreciated. He's 72 and getting more frail as he gets older, which is really hard for me to see (he's a Marine, and I'm so used to him being bigger than life, really). Thanks.
