Which kitchen cabinet liner do you recommend?

Hi everyone!  I would like to know if you guys use kitchen cabinet liner and which kind/product/name/store you bought it at?  What are the pros and cons of the ones you have?  How easy are they to clean?  Do you take them out to wash them, or?

We've previously moved (too) frequently from apt to apt, and I've just lined them with paper towels in the past, and finally ready to buy something for our new house!  Yeah!  There are so many different choices, I don't know what to get!

I'd like a non-adhesive kind, and these will be cherry kitchen cabinets.  Thanks!

Re: Which kitchen cabinet liner do you recommend?

  • walmart, target has them that are NOT adhesive. Thats what i used to line my kitchen cabinets. I even see them at BigLots (here in California)
  • Thank you, do you prefer the kind with the holes in it (the mesh/cushion/'grip') like or a solid/smooth plastic liner like ??

That's my biggest question.  The 'mesh' kind protects cabinets and glasses, but does it not get dirty in the cabinet *through* them, so you have to take them out, wash the liner and wipe the cabinets??  And if there's still water on an item you take out of the dishwasher it will make the cabinet wet?

Sorry, if this sounds OC, I might be overthinking this, but I'm kind of a hygiene freak, but also prefer easy clean, and would just like to hear your opinions...!

  • I use the mesh looking one and just know that it does adhere to the cabinets, so you can't take it out and clean it.  I bought mine at Costco, but that was a couple years ago.

We recently redid our kitchen, and I painted all of the cabinets including the insides.  It gave them a really clean look!

  • I have the mesh ones that I bought at the dollar store. I haven't had any problems w/ them sticking.

  • Whoops, just saw they were cherry finish... I wouldn't paint anything then!

They do have a clear type at Costco as well.  I liked buying from them because I needed a ton of it!
