I DID IT! But....

Thanks for the encouragement!  I got through 9 miles!  I can't believe it! I am totally in shock.  A little over a year ago I could hardly run for 30 seconds.

But I totally forgot to wear Body Glide and I am in PAIN.  Sad  I also waited too late to go because I wanted it to cool off and ended up running the last mile or so in the dark using my iphone as a flashlight.

I might be sending DH out in the morning to get some.  I'm using Neosporin for now. I also got some rubbing at the front of my bra that hasn't happened.  Ouch!

  • congrats on the miles.  You rock!  I'm still happy to get through 15 minutes. LOL.  You're an inspiration.  Keep on trekkin'
  • Yes

Yay!  This gives me the boost for my 13 miles today!  We'll see...it is 3 miles further than I have done before...but according to the training plan, I should be able to do it, so I'm giving it a shot!

  • Awesome!  Doesn't it feel great when you think back to when you first started running?

Blenderdance- you can do it!  I ran my 1/2 with my longest training run being 10 miles.  Trust in the training ;)

I had never ran the full 13 either when I ran my half in May AND I was going through physical therapy for a running injury (IT Band).

I've heard that if you can run 80% of the full distance, you're all good.
