Kitty update

For the past couple of days, kitty has been moving around more. She is still wobbly, but seems to be trying to get back into her old routine. You know, lay on the couch, lay by the back door, lay in the window sill, etc. Lol. She shows an interest in drinking milk, but still not eating much. I think if I can get her to eat again, she might be ok.

  • Just wanted to say, I like kittens. Angel

  • Your poor kitty!  It sounds like she was pretty sick.  I'm glad to hear that she's starting to bounce back a bit.

Did you call the vet and ask for more of an explanation?

  • Thanks for updating.

When my cat was sick and not eating much, the vet prescribed a high calorie wet food.  At first I mixed a little of that with water and fed it to her through a syringe to make sure she was getting calories.  By the next day, she was eating on her own.  I know you had a bad experience with your vet, but maybe you could call about something like that?

I hope she continues to get better.

  • That vet is open late tonight & I'm going to stop by & get the records. I'm also going to ask what the other injection was b/c I don't know.

  • Aww, I hope your kitty keeps feeling better and is as good as new soon. Poor thing. :(

  • Aw I'm glad she is doing a bit better.   PP mentioned something about a high calorie food- might be a good idea.  I've seen cats given this food mixed with a little water by syringe into their mouth (you can get a syringe at the drug store in the baby medication section).  Also hope you don't mind some unsolicited advice: most cats can't digest milk very well so it is usually best to give water and not milk.

    Thanks for the update!

  • I stopped by the vet & found out the other injection was an antibiotic, which is why I didn't see improvement right away, but am seeing it now. I bought her a little can of the kitten milk replacement too & she drank a little of that last night & again this morning.
  • So, if they gave her an antibiotic, that means they did think there was an infection like you had suspected?

Didn't they originally tell you that it was asthma?

Regardless, I'm glad to hear that you're seeing improvement.
