Is anyone running the Disney Wine & Dine 1/2?

I'm more of a lurker, but just curious if anyone else will be there.

Registration is at 70%. Here's the info: http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/events/endurance/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/

It will be my first 1/2 marathon and I couldn't think of a cooler way to start. It's a night marathon starting at 10pm and you run through all of the parks. At the finish line, you end up at a private after party of the Wine and Food Festival that goes until 3am!

Re: Is anyone running the Disney Wine & Dine 1/2?

  • i'm considering it. i ran the princess half in march and it was so much fun. DH can't go with me though, so i'd have to find someone else who is willing to go. it would be so fun especially since it's the inaugural.

  • I really wanted to do that one, but the date is not great for me.  Have fun!!
  • I am!  I'm looking forward to it.
  • I'm not but I'd like to do that one and the Disney Marathon in the future.  I'm not a big Disney fan but it seems like it would be cool to run through the parks!

  • I'm not a huge Disney fan either, but I sure do love my food and wine! I figured that this would be a great first marathon because the parks are relatively flat, there will be a lot of neat things to see, it's at night so it will be cooler and there will be fireworks during the runs. (I'm just assuming since Disney does fireworks daily).

  • I so, SO wanted to, but I decided to do a full marathon locally that month instead. Have a great time!

  • I realllllly want to run this, but the idea of STARTING a half marathon at 10pm just does not sit well with me.  I'm usually in bed by then.... Embarrassed
  • I just wanted to thank you for posting this!  I had no idea this existed.  My Husband and I were going to be in Disney until 10/2 anyway.  We recently started running and we're doing the "Ease into 10K" program right now.

We decided to extend our vacation one more day and we're doing the "relay" half marathon (I don't think either of us is quite ready to do the whole thing on our own yet!).

So, thanks again!  I'm so excited to be running in this!
