  • I would think along of the lines of a fruit juice popsicle? Cool/Numb your throat and get some fruit juice nutrients?

  • Rice porriage. Steamed rice (fresh or reheated leftovers), dab of butter, sugar (or substitute), cinnamon, vanilla extract, and some milk. Soft, tasty, and filling.

  • Mylanta or some other throat-coating med used to treat stomach acid problems. And then crackers to fill up the empty space until your throat gets better.

  • Mmm, okay, putting on my outdoor slippers and going to the shop.  Had two slices of bread and the popsicles sound incredible.  And porridge.  Yum.  Thanks ladies :)

I had the last of the Maalox yesterday morning :( Will have FI pick some up on the way home.

  • The one medication I found in italy that really helped my acid reflux, was bucospan.  It's in pill form, and it works pretty fast.  Or, if you don't mind drinking something, there's a powdered form to put with water.  Hm.  I think it's called biochetasi or something like that.  Maalox and that stuff doesn't really do anything for me.
  • I'm late to the game, but NO FRUIT JUICE!!!!!

Natural fruit juices (the ones we're most likely to drink, like grape, orange, kiwi, pomegranite, etc.) have high acid contents, which are bad if you've had a nice round of acid reflux.

I've had a few ulcers and severe acid reflux...had to give up my fruit juice habit..sad day.  I use Nexium...have you tried that?  That little purple pill has become my favorite thing EVER!

  • You can try the BRAT diet. Banana, Rice, Applesauce and Toast. But, obviously not for long periods of time.

Not food, but mint tea is always good at about this point.

Yeah, the fruit juice game wasn't pleasant.  Even taking an alka seltzer this morning -- or yesterday? No idea -- was like swallowing a blow torch.

Me and Nexium have the second greatest love affair on earth.  The first being the one with FI.  Unless the reflux comes back, then Nexium = #1.  I grabbed a new bottle when I was in the States a few months ago.  Lifesaver.

This is what I was going to say.  Too much acid.  I hope you are feeling better.
