Where to have lunch near the GA Aquarium?

We'll be up in Atlanta for a day trip tomorrow to the aquarium. I see they have a food court there, but would you recommend it? Or - are there any good lunch spots nearby, preferably without having to park twice (but we will if it's worth doing so)

Thanks and happy Thursday :)

Re: Where to have lunch near the GA Aquarium?

  • I can't vouch for these places since I haven't been but I think Stats and Luckie Street Lounge are over there.
  • There's a Legal Seafood across the street, but it can be pricey - or at least it was for dinner. You may have better luck with lunch.
  • Go to Max's (on Marietta St) for pizza. Good and cheap.
  • There is a Taco Mac at Philips Arena, which is next to the CNN Center. It's a ten minute or so walk from the Aquarium. It's a sports bar with awesome wings, burgers and tons of beers to choose from.

  • The cupcakes at the aquarium are really good :)
  • Thanks, girls...those sound like good options. DH could eat tacos every day, but I'll try to talk him into pizza and maybe have a cupcake later.

I probably should've mentioned I was looking for a cheap lunch. Anyway, we have sushi plans for dinner. We always make a point of having sushi when we go to Atlanta, because Warner Vegas sushi isIck!

  • We always walk across Centennial park to the CNN center food court. There's a lot there including CFA, one of my faves!

I would do this and then take the food to the park and eat there. I've eaten the Aquarium food...overpriced and bland.

If you want a cheap lunch, then that's a good place. They have a Wendy's, Arby's, Chick Fil A, Taco Bell, Moe's, Gorin's, a wrap place, a pizza place, a Japanese place, a Mexican restaurant, and probably a few others I'm forgetting.

Where are you going for sush1? I've heard that MF Sushi is really, really good. We haven't been yet though.

I've heard its crazy pricey too, though (haven't BEEN tho!)

Its a safe bet to walk over to CNN and eat there or  like PP mentioned, STATS (decent bar foods) is around the corner and Luckie Food Lounge is around the other corner and you can get some varied options there, including sushi.

I've heard the same, and that you have to really dress to impress (like you're clubbing or something) . Or that's what the yelp reviews say, anyway. We're going to Tomo off of Cobb Pkwy. for dinner.

Thanks again for the recs....I think we have settled on Max's for pizza :)

  • Max's usually has a great slice and salad lunch deal.

I think MF Sushi is totally overrated (and overpriced) sushi. There's much better sushi in Atlanta.

And if I remember correctly, Luckie Lounge is a little pricey for lunch. Cool place but more of a night spot than anything else. There was a 50% off coupon on Scoutmob a few days ago for there though.
