got a new compost bin!!!

DH's uncle is really into composting and he bought me one of those really nice rotating ones from home depot.  i usually try to reuse containers for this type of thing instead of buying new but it's really nice and i'm super excited about it!

Re: got a new compost bin!!!

  • That's exciting. We just started our first compost bin today. I hope we do OK.

Yay!  We are going to get one like that too.  Was it easy to assemble?

DH's uncle built it, it didn't look too hard.  it's kinda hard to turn, but my compost is a little  too wet (we moved it over from my old bin) and i think it's not quite level in our yard.

  • Just popped in to say:

I'm sooooooo jealous!  I've wanted a rotating bin for years!

  • Sweet!  I overturned our simple compost bin (not a turning one) to add to our raised bed yesterday and we had a solid 6 inches of the awesomest, crumbly black compost ever!  I wish I had taken a picture of it before I scooped it all out.  Composting is fun and easy, enjoy!
