Craziness from my local

A girl on my local is whining that she's throwing herself a birthday party and she told her friends to save the date, and now she sent out invites and they can't come because they have family in town and some can't find sitters. Cause she sent out the invites a month ago and sitters can't be that hard to find.

Everyone is telling her "they don't sound like very good friends."

Re: Craziness from my local

  • I think everyone should be telling her "you have unrealistic expectations, and you're running off your friends." =)
  • What I cant get passed is the simple fact that she is throwing HERSELF a birthday party. Really???

I cannot imagine throwing myself any kind of party. I can see saying "Hey we are goign out to dinner on Sat. for my bday, wanna come?" But anything beyond that is just weird to me.

    Ditto!  Is she turning 11?

    *snorts*

One girl said "I don't think I've had a birthday party since I was like 11."

  • Ok, now there's 3 of us telling her she's being a b!tch. I feel better now.
  • Oops! I messed up.  I guess I'm a loser 11 yr old. I invited my friends to my game-playing party last year for my birthday. I wanted to get everyone together and have game night, so I did.

I refer to this as a Nest Clusterfuck.

  • Hm. Well, if I threw myself a bday party (which I wouldn't do because I hate planning parties) I'd be sad if people couldn't come, but I don't think the world revolves around me and would understand that people have other responsibilities.

  • I didn't read the post but I would be sad if I my friends knew about a party a month in advance and had a lame reason for not coming but family in town and having kids are pretty good excuses in my book.
