need a restaurant rec

I'm hosting an AIA board retreat next weekend here and need a place to go to dinner. There will be 6 or 7 of us, with four coming in from out of town. We're going to be near 24th/Camelback during the day and need somewhere to go for dinner on Saturday night. It can be a nicer place, but shouldn't really break the bank (that means the Capital Grille is out!). Any suggestions? This is sort of a business dinner, so it can't be somewhere extremely loud.

Re: need a restaurant rec

  • Sam's Cafe at the Biltmore is really good and not as pricey as Capital Grille.  I've only been once it was a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't loud.

  • We're going to Sam's Cafe for lunch already! Great minds think alike I guess ;-)
  • i've heard good things about Tarbell's, and Chef Tarbell was on Iron Chef America, so I'd bet the food is good :)
  • Oooo Bella Tarbell's looks good! I'm already sold on the butternut squash ravioli.
  • your welcome :)

I will take a creme brulee or chocolate mousse as payment for the recommendation ;)
  • Hi Michelle,

Have you been to Steamers? They have great seafood, but I don't think they are overly expensive. It's right next to Sam's Cafe too I think. Oh, you could try Chelsea's Kitchen too. I hear that's good. Not that fancy though.
