Good Morning INs - Happy Monday:)

did everyone have a nice weekend? what are you up to today?

Re: Good Morning INs - Happy Monday:)

  • Not much going on here.  Monique, did you go to the Opera House today to witness 5000 naked people on the steps?  If that took place in Brisbane I don't know if I would go...its such a neat/historical event but then again I don't desire the image of 5000 naked people burned into my retinas for the rest of my life.

Ha! No I didn't go - but my colleagues were talking about it this morning - what a Miserable day for it!!! Chilly & rainy out! I'm happy to just see the photo some day - but ah no - not for me:)
  • Good morning (it's still Sunday evening here!) ladies. Weekend was great, preparing for the lengthy road trip home on Tuesday morning. Today I have to go get my driver's license renewed (written and driven test since I let it expire, yay!) then off to bank for some long awaited business.

  • Had a nice weekend with the kids.  My aunt, uncle, and cousin from Utah were in Buffalo visiting for the weekend so I got to talk to them a few times on webcam.  Yesterday we went down by the water and had lunch.  SIL also found shared accommodation closer to her work and she moves out in 3 weeks!  She's been fine, only gets on my nerves occasionally, but it will be nice to get our house back and not have to worry about including her.

I saw a giant huntsman spider in the kitchen today, actually right under where my shoes were-I had just put them on and noticed it, I screamed, kicked off my shoes, and called DH.  He was on his way home for lunch anyway and I just stood there watching it to make sure it didn't go anywhere until DH could kill it.

    Have a great day!

  • Hello Monique!  I just relaxed today.  Finishing crocheting some baby stuff for one of my pregnant friends.  In a little while, we're going to a movie with the IL.

Oh, I did get to talk to my mom today, and it was soooo good!  She hasn't been herself for awhile (like, a few years), and today she sounded like her old self.  Praise God!

Anyway, hope you had a good weekend.

Oh, Amy, I hate huntsmans!!!  They are so huge and scary!  I'm glad your H killed it.  :)

  • Good morning!  I have the interview for a teaching position today.  I really want this job!
  • Good morning! We've had an up-and-down weekend. Poor sleep and cranky baby, but not too bad otherwise. I'm ringing the doctor today to have his ears checked against another ear infection, but otherwise the normal: play group, lunch/ nap, groceries in town, and maybe baking some Welsh cakes for St David's Day...

  • Morning ladies!

Sounds like everyone is doing well! Our week is going well so far. It's so quiet, since its spring break on campus, and all our friends are traveling. I am sad about it -but we'll be in Scotland for the whole month of July, so I am truly looking forward to that!

Emily - Best of luck on your interview!!! :-D I hope you get the job!

  • Good luck to the job searchers!

Today is the beginning of Spirit Week at the high school...even the faculty dress up a bit.  Today is pajama day, though I'm wearing tights, shorts & a large t-shirt cause I forgot about it...but always have shorts & tee-shirt in my office (in case I want to workout here).  I'm also substitute teaching for a middle school gym class & teaching cricket which will be fun!

  • Happy Monday!

I got back from my business trip to the US on Sunday evening, and then it was straight into work this morning.  I was able to see some friends on my trip, which was awesome.  Luckily the jet lag isn't too bad, but I think I will be going to bed early tonight.

  • I had a great weekend, capped by a gold medal in hockey last night!  Woohoo - Yay Canada!  Also had a good time yesterday meeting up with some of the other London Nesties.  Nothing much on for today, but FIL is coming to visit on Wednesday, so we'll have to make sure that everything is in order for that.
  • It was good! I didn't get my sushi, but we did go see Dr. Parnassus, which was really good. By the time we went to pick up D.L., I was so excited to see her again, but I admit it was nice to get a break. She gave me a big, big hug when I came in. :)
  • Morning!

    Pjs day sounds fun!

Weekend was alright, with 3rd viewing from the guy (with his girlfriend this time). She liked it, he still likes it, but still no offer. He's coming back tonight to listen out for the neighbours.

OMG, I would have just been hysterical! This is honestly somethign that stresses me out about going to Australia - I'm such a wimp when it comes to itsy bitsy Belgian spiders, I just couldn't cope with monsters like that!

Yep, can you believe it? And it's not just to check on the noise levels: he's bringing a builder friend with him to look around/check it's all ok.

What he's expecting to achieve is beyond me - unless his mate can see through walls, there's nothing to see.

DH is adamant we kick him out after 20 minutes no matter what. Up to now, we've already spent 3 hours in the flat with this guy.

  • It's just SO strange. I agree - he should have a 20 minute limit!! If he has had 3 hours, he should know by now. Especially since he obviously likes the place!!

I can understand wanting to be flexible since you are selling, but seriously. I have friends who have bought houses after only seeing it once!

Good luck - I hope this is the LAST time, for your sake :-)

  • Good morning! Nice weekend here, especially with Ireland winning at Twickenham on Saturday (sorry, England INs!!). Just another Monday at work.  Only 7 weeks to go before mat. leave starts...not like I am counting down or anything Wink
  • I'll admit that I went to see our house five times.  Three times on our own, once with my ILs, once with my parents (who happened to be here).  It's not that unusual...though I never stayed more than 20 minutes at a time.  When you're paying that sort of money, you want to be certain.

Thanks! I'll definitely be an AW and post yet another request for vibes later on... (sorry!)

It's particularly irritating as all 3 places we have bought up to now we decided/negotiated/signed by the end of one viewing. It takes me longer to decide to buy shoes than a house, lol.

I understand you want to be certain & generally would find it fair enough (I know we're the freaks here, lol) but he's dangled the fact he was going to make an offer from the first viewing... and still nothing. It's getting old.

Weekend was good, it was my birthday so hung out with DH and friends. Today I started my new job! and it went so well I'm already home! (2pm), haha, just because they don't have a workstation/computer set up for me yet, but in any case, I think I'm really going to enjoy it.

Aw, I'm glad you had time off! As much as I dream about this, I know it'd be difficult to go through with.

I would have seen our house many, many more times than the one (!!!) time, but I felt so self-conscious about it. As it turns out, I wish we had, as there were little things we missed in our first viewing, as it was night time. They're not major ones, prob not enough to put us off buying it, but still...
