How to find a house cleaner

I'm looking to hire a housecleaner but don't really know how to go about this, so I figured I'd ask here! I don't really want to use a service (way expensive) but I'm not sure how find someone locally. Craigslist? I don't know what is a good rate either. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Re: How to find a house cleaner

  • You could try posting here to see if anyone has recommendations in your area.  I'd also try Craig's list and reach out to your friends IRL to see if they know anyone.  The going rate really depends on where you are in CT.
  • Where are you located, I love cleaning! And I could use some extra income..LOL but seriously.
  • We found ours via Craigs List and are very happy with her.  We pay $30/hour
