This past year I read the Princess Diaries books and I enjoyed them. Can anyone recommend another Y.A series that I can get into? I've already read Harry Potter, Twilight and Hunger Games. I'm thinking something similar to Princess Diaries---but not too cheesy. I'll be getting the books from the library, so something that should be readily available (I use the Los Angeles Public library, so they have a big selection).

I was definitely thinking about this series. I think I'll definitely try them out this year. I like to have a light, fun book lying around for when I'm in the mood.

The Uglies Series is a good choice (Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras)
If you are into Vampires or the "Night world"
The Vampire Academy is a pretty good read. Along with The House of Night Series by P.C. and Kristen Cast
Blue Blood Series by Melissa De La Cruz
L.J. Smith has some decent books. The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle and he has the Night World Collections that has three volumes so far. The Night World Collections have some reoccuring characters.
Wicked and Wicked 2 by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie are about Witches
Annette Curtis Klause and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes has books concerning Vampires and Werewovles
Books by Celia Rees: Sorceress, Pirates! and Witch Child
A Great and Terrible Beauty Series by Libba Bray (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, A Sweet Far Thing)
I've read all of these books and for the most part I enjoyed each and every one. HTH!

I was just going to say this
Since you like the Princess Diaries, I'm going to recommend ones that are light, humorous, contemporary YA.
-Anything Sarah Dessen (except Dreamland, that one is dark). I highly recommend The Truth About Forever and This Lullaby
-Anything by Maureen Johnson. She is HILARIOUS. A lot of people like 13 Little Blue Envelopes, but my faves by her are The Key To The Golden Firebird and Girl At Sea
-Anything by E. Lockhart. The Ruby Oliver Boyfriend List series is really cue and fun. I also really really like The Disreputable History of Frankie-Landau Banks
-Bad Kitty by Michelle Jaffe is really really awesome and hilarious
-Ally Carter's Gallagher books are super fun
-Audrey Wait
28/100
Wow, everyone gave you some great suggestions!
The Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison is also very cute and Princess Diaries-esque. Georgia is very shallow, but she's British, so she says some pretty hilarious things.
