BR: Belly Pics

So, I decided I should probably take another belly pic since the only one(s) I have are from like 7-8 weeks and that was 10 weeks ago.  I can tell my body has changed but the pics look exactly the same.  Just my usual big fat belly. Grrrr.....

So, no sharing yet.

Side note - it's really hard to take self belly portraits. Any tips?  Either I have to move back enough to get my whole profile (not that you want to see my enormous a$$) or I'm so close you see like two inches of my belly.  Ah well,  I think I'll enroll DH in the future - although he always tries to get my head in it too.  No thanks.

Re: BR: Belly Pics

  • Such a tease! I hope in the next few weeks you will feel comfortable sharing your bump picture.

I always had DH take my bump pictures..

  • I think you should post it and let us see if we can tell a difference. Pretty please?
  • OK, I did some cropping so it's not as gruesome as it was.   But, I'm right, there is basically no difference b/t 7 and 17 weeks....

Still have my "B" belly.  Maybe by 20 weeks that'll "fill in".  HAHA

  • I never took any bare belly pics!  I didn't really get a bump until about 23 weeks.  For the pics I used the timer on my camera to take them.  Then later on enlisted DH to take the pics.

Sadly, my B didn't go away until about 30 weeks!

Oh yeah, the full panel maternity pants helped smooth away the B.. I highly recommend them!

I can tell a difference. I think your belly looks more even now and less B like.Especially in the side view at 17 weeks, I can barely see a B at all.

  • I can tell a difference...I think its adorable!!

  • I can tell a difference. Like Tif said, the 17 week bump looks smoother and like a little bit of the B has filled in. You look great!

  • If it makes you feel any better my SIL who is thin is 21 weeks pregnant and just looks like she ate too much.  I am secretly glad she doesn't have a big baby bump yet.. lol

I'm actually OK with it.  I mean, it would be nice to actually look pregnant and not just fat or is-she-or-isn't-she but I was so freaked out that I was going to gain a ton of weight and be huge.  So far I have lost weight so I'm hoping that I can keep to the 10-15 lbs gain the doc suggests and eventually look pregnant (but not gigantic).

  • Aww, don't be nervous to share your belly pics with us. It was mentioned before and some of us "larger" ladies didn't get noticable belly until around 20 weeks.

Like Ranger, I will never take any bare belly pics, I wish I had Jennrs beautiful baby belly - I'd be running around half naked all the time.

As far as taking the pictures, I always do profile, and stand about three feet from the mirror. Oh, and I always wear smooth pants to avoid any B'ing of the belly. ;)

I took my first belly pic at 16 weeks - and looking at it now it looks like my normal self too. It's really just the shirt that makes it look like a "slight" bump.

But then between 16 and 20 weeks there is a bigger difference. Keep in mind your little bebe isn't all that big yet either.

  • My bump isn't noticeable yet either and I think I'm only a week ahead of you.  I just look like my normal self only with a really pudgy tummy.  If I wear a tight shirt and look at my profile it's noticeable but in my everyday winter clothes it's so not!

I think that the baby will double in size over the next 3 weeks or so, so look for a little bit more of a bump at 20 weeks, but I have read girls on the 2nd tri board say they didn't start showing until much later than that even!

    You look great!

  • I was a good 16/18 pre-pregnancy and like you felt like I just looked like I was getting heavier. It's just been in the last week that I finally started to round out and look more pregnant. I'm a few weeks ahead of you, so keep your chin up sweetie.

This is gonna sound sort of weird, but one thing that helped me feel like I had less of a double belly was that I finally gave in stopped trying to wear my underwear on my belly versus under it. Now that they sit under, the belly looks more smooth and there's not a weird line across the middle.

  • I can tell that it is becoming more of a baby bump! Maybe you will lose weight every where else but gain it back in your belly. (So you are really not gaining/losing any weight, just turning it into a baby).

  • Naylon, I think you look great! I can definitely see a difference...that bump is smoothing out:)  So cute!
  • I can tell a difference! I think we are similar sizes and I also worry that I'm just going to still look like I always do or like I put on a few pounds, and not actually pregnant. I can't wait to see what your bump looks like as you (your belly) get bigger!
