Snow? WTF?

I just woke up at 8:40....STARVING.  I have someone coming between 9 and 12 to do some work on the house but I am totally craving a fresh bagel from my favorite bagel shop.  I think - no problem.  I can make it there and back in 20 mins **pull on jeans, grab coat and keys**....only to be confronted by heavy snow and an inch or two on the ground.  WTF?  I didn't know about this.  I have plans today, man.

Hopefully they get the plows out and it stops.  Snowing for anyone else on the East?  NDMolly?

  • We are getting a mixture of snow and rain making for slushy roads.  It supposed to continue most of the day.

  • They were calling for freezing rain and a wintery mix. We woke up this morning to almost an inch. DH called his dad to come take me to my appt cause he said even the main roads were terrible, like they weren't expecting anything at all.

  • It started snowing in NYC as I was watching the today show before I left for work around 8. Not supposed to start here until noon.

  • Yep, the flakes were just starting to fall as I left for work, and as I made my way down the 20 miles there, it got much heavier. I was hoping anyway to get let out early from work today, being New Year's Eve, but hopefully the snow pushes it even earlier!
  • I live on a fairly main road and we aren't plowed at all.  In fact, two plow trucks just drove by with their plows UP.  What good does that do?
  • We were expecting ice and woke up to 2 inches of snow.

Thank goodness DH FINALLY moved the motorcycle so I could put my car in the garage!  It was a glorious thing to not have to scrape my car this morning.

  • I forgot that it was supposed to snow yesterday until I opened the door to let the dogs out.

  • It just started snowing here a few mins ago. I guess we're expecting about an inch or two, but it should be raining by the morning, so it'll all be gone.

  • no snow in Maine YET.  They are predicting 3-6 inches tonight and a whopper of a storm to hit us this weekend.

The grocery store was out of control last night!
