AW: Pics of nursery in progress

Re: AW: Pics of nursery in progress

  • i LOVE the nursery!  The colors are great!

Where did you get that crib?  That is great how it is multifunctional and has a lot of storage!

  • Very cute!  I can't wait to see what it looks like when you get the decals up.  I like your crib, too.  We're hoping to get one like that, with a changing table on the end (it will just work very well for our room), but in dark wood.

  • I love it! You're so crafty....love all of the little details, the pillow, your old lamp, the hanging letters, all of the vintage items....Libby is one lucky girl!

ETA: Happy belated birthday by the way!

  • Wow, it looks fantastic! I love the colors and I love the crib too! I has my eye on one that was the same design, but different color but it was like $400, which was a little steep for me. I'm guessing that's the crib that your dad got for you? I remembered that he bought it somewhere else for a better deal than from the registry, right? Anyway, it all looks great! Libby's gonna love it!

  • Thanks ladies....about the crib....it's AFG Athena Daphne 2-in-1 convertible.  We actually registered for this version:

    http://www.afgbabyfurniture.com/5500.php

But my dad ordered this one:

    http://www.afgbabyfurniture.com/661.662.php

They are exactly the same except the one he ordered doesn't have the fold down side.  We didn't realize this until we had the thing assembled.  Good thing we're tall so we can lean over the side to pick up baby and put her down.  If you're not tall, I would definitely recommend getting the one with the fold-down option.

I have seen them online for upwards of $550 but my dad found ours for $320...I at CSNstores.com:

    http://www.csnstores.com/AFG-Furniture-661W-AFG1017.html

It's super sturdy with all real wood (including the drawers) with just MDF for the bottom of the drawers and back of the shelving unit (on the side of the drawers).  It also comes in two wood stains (pecan and cherry) as well as natural.

  • GREAT JOB Lori!!! I love the shelf with the baby clothes hanging on the hooks. You are very creative...wish I were as crafty as you.

  • I love this room!  It has so many fun and great qualities about it... very creative!  My favorite - all the things that are from your childhood.  Very sentimental and a nice touch.

LOL Alix!  Trust me, no one is more surprised than I am.  I mean really?!  It was just this time last year that J and I asked the question, "are we ready to start a family?" and BAM!  Here were are waiting for our daughter to be born.  WTF?  And certainly when I was planning our wedding...never in a million years...had someone said, "You'll have a 9-5 job in the midwest and a baby" I would have laughed in their face!  LOL!

You just never know where life will take you...that said...I am the happiest I've been and have the least amount of stress in my life that I've ever had...so it must be right.

Thanks Lisa!  I want to get the decals and put them up and get my manzanita branch and attach the little birdies so I am done.  Then I'll feel like it's complete.  Oh and get the day bed finished with a quilt, dust ruffle and additional pillows.  I debating adding mosquito net/canopy over it and suspending a paper lantern or small chandelier in it....but that can come later.  I also want to get some artwork for the other walls.

It's all on my registry and the ladies at work are throwing me a shower next week, so we shall see if any of it turns up.  If not, I'll place my orders and add these final touches so I can be DONE! Yes

  • Beautiful Lori! I still need to finish our nursery. Libby is going to love her room!
