What a sports weekend.

Saints are no longer perfect, New Mexico Bowl ended in double OT drama [who would've thought], Texas blew out UNC, the Vols were [super] upset by USC, Butler-Xavier's game was nuts at the end, Penn State's women's volleyball team walked away with their third straight volleyball championship [and 102-game win streak]...and this doesn't include all the stuff that's happened in the NBA, other NCAA action, and we still have NFL tomorrow.

I love sports weekends like this. Did I miss any other major sports story? What was your fave moment from this past weekend of sports?

Re: What a sports weekend.

  • Georgetown lost to ODU and Florida lost to Richmond and WV almost lost to Cleveland St. I enjoyed Duke beating Gonzaga, but there was not really anything spectacular about that. My favorite moment is the Penn State volleyball win. I did not think they were going to do it, it seemed like Texas was going to win during the 4th set.

The Lady Vols had their first lost to Stanford last night (I am an alum). I also lived in the Murfreesboro area, so I am going to watch MTSU tonight in their bowl.

Villanova beat Montana in the FCS championship game Friday night.  Really great game.

I watched that and i was shocked at Montana since they were undefeated up until that point (They beat App State last week).

  • The Steelers figured out how to win a game without Troy Polamalu...albeit a one-point victory with 0:00 on the clock.
