Silly pointless poll!

What temp do you keep your thermostat on? I was just whining to the DH about how cold my house was and I looked and saw it was on 70, so I bumped it to 72! Now I am a little too warm lol.

[Poll]

Re: Silly pointless poll!

  • my heat is set on 70.

When we have ac on, we set it on 73-75

  • Ours is set on 66 right now, but if we are getting showers or early in the morning I bump it up to 69, but nothing above 70.  Our heating bill is always awesome, it's the air conditioning that kills us. In the summer I would keep it at 72 all the time if I could. lol
  • 78 in the summer and 70 in the winter.  NICE power bills.
    NetnieNay Anniversary BabyFruit Ticker
  • Ours is set on 74, but only because our apartment is so drafty that if its set anywhere around 70, it feels like 65.
  • Ours is set on 68 in the winter, but we build a fire on the nights when it gets really cold. In the summer we usually keep it set on 74 during the day and 72 at night because we can't sleep if it's too warm.

  • 65 when we're sleeping/out. 67 otherwise.  I hate utility bills!!

  • Ours is around 17 celsius... I wish it were 23, but DH says that is too high. I don't know what they convert to, but I like it hot!
  • It's at 75 and I'm really cold.

I have on fuzzy socks, yoga pants and a tshirt and have been huddling under a blanket all night.

Thank goodness I live in the south becuase I would probably die of hypothermia before even leaving the house if I lived up north.  I'm a cold wuss obviously.

  • winter it's set at 67 after work/night & then down to 64 when i'm at work.

  • Other.  Heater kicks on when it's 60.  I'm still unemployed so we're cheap & don't mind putting on a sweater instead of heating our two story living room.  In the summer, AC kicks on when it's 80/82 inside.

  • 60 at night and 66 during the day.  DH keeps control of it, I'd really like it to be hot in here!  I've tried telling him I'd walk around the house naked all the time if he kept the heat up but alas, I still haven't convinced him.

That is super cold, and I would tell my DH to kiss it, if he freezed me like that. jeeze 60? woah! I would be sick. sorry.  :(

  • We keep it at 64 when we are home and 60 when we are out.  DH calls me the heat nazi, but we just don't have the finances to pay a really high heating bill.

  • I would never survive keeping it in the low-mid 60s like some of you ladies-wow!!  68 or lower at night and out.  70 when I'm home. sometimes crank to 72 to get the chill out.  DH can keep it colder, but I'm already bundled in sweats, socks, slippers under a blanket on the couch, still cold.  I must have the worst circulation!

My DH and I are the opposite of you!  I like it colder and he's always complaining about it!  I went to college in VT and never turned on my heat my senior year Embarrassed  I was on the 3rd floor and it was pretty warm from everyone else cranking heat below me.  I guess I'm an ice queen.

  • We don't have a standard termostat since we're in an apartment. We never turn on the heat unless necessary and we try to avoid the AC. Since we live on the 2nd floor we get the heat from downstairs and the AC from upstairs!!!

Oh he isn't as mean as it sounds.  We cuddle when we sleep so he keeps me warm and when he goes out of town he turns up the heat for me so that I have a nice toasty house.  If I really was serious about him turning up the heat he would because he spoils me all the time.  We just like to keep tabs on the bills.  My DH is a wonderful guy, really!

  • Ours stays around 82* in the summer for A/C, and not sure about winter because we haven't turned the heat on yet... If it gets chilly, just find your cozy socks, sweater and big blanket!

  • DH has ours set at 68 when we are home and I think 65 when we are not home. I was so cold last night though that I actually turned the heating pad on and put under me for a couple of hours and I went to bed with a jacket on and 2 pairs of socks on.

  • I would prefer to have it on at least 72. But dh likes it at 68. He won't go any higher than 70. So usually I'm freezing at home.
  • We keep it at 72, but we live in New England. I always thought we had it slightly higher to combat the drafts and cold that inevitably leaks through.
