no lemon shake-ups at the state fair?!?!?

they are the best drink ever!!! i was so sad when i went to the WA state fair today and they didn't have them, nor did the ppl we went w/know what they were!

you take a cup of ice and squeeze x amount of lemon into the cup and throw the lemon in, w/water and sugar, then shake w/a martini shaker top and serve up.  its much sweeter than lemonade and fresher tasting.  it doesn't taste just like fresh squeezed lemonade either, have to explain.

they also make other citrus versions w/limes or oranges added in.  they were at every festival/carnival i ever went to in IL!

Re: no lemon shake-ups at the state fair?!?!?

  • Never heard of them either, but they sound really good!
  • Sounds good, but this is the first I've ever heard of them.  They didn't have anything like that in any of the fairs I've been to in Oregon either.
  • I've heard of those, but have never had one. The hubs and I went to the Alaska State Fair today and it was tiny compared to the Puyallup and Evergreen State Fairs. They had one elephant ear & funnel cake stand, just one - how can you call yourself a fair with only one of those?
  • I've never heard of that either.  Must be a regional thing.

The Puyallup Fair is bigger and better.  I think they have numerous funnel cake and elephant ear stands!

  • I think the closest you  are going to get around here is the Lemonade at Safeco field.
