***Chels and BWB*** Re: H20 Intake

Great article from babycenter.com on water intake. Looks like you're right on track, Chels. :-)

That's the recommended amount for normal people too... 6-8 8oz glasses a day.

The health teacher at my school is WAY into nutrition and training. She said most of the new literature she's seen recommends drinking half of your body weight in ounces a day. For example, if I weigh 100 pounds, I should drink at least 50 fl oz of water a day. That's the rule I follow, but I was told to follow it by my urologist because I have kidney stones and need more water than the average person.

I have been drinking that much for about 6 years now, and when I wake up in the morning (sometimes) my kidneys hurt because i'm dehydrated from not drinking all night. I down a bottle of water and my back stops working. Sometimes I wake up and drink a bottle of water during the night. I also try to drink 1 bottle per period or 2 at school... that's how I pace myself.

I would LOVE to be able to do that... especially with talking sooo much as a teacher. At my school we are not allowed to have water in class (or any food or beverage for that matter), so if I want to drink any water I have to go to the faculty room (which I only have time to do once a day)... crazy right?!
