BWB&LO

What is the first purchase you made for baby?  I find myself wondering into the baby sections at stores and feeling all the soft little blankets and things, but I haven't actually bought anything yet... not sure how much longer I can hold out.  I actually dragged DH into Baby GAP over the weekend and almost started crying when we were looking at the little jammies.  I love baby things!

Re: BWB&LO

  • I bought some white and gender neutral onesies at about 6w. I couldn't help myself!

  • I waited until the 20 week ultrasound to buy anything.  I didn't want to buy gender neutral clothes, and I had a wierd fear of miscarrage for a long time, so I held out.  It was the hardest thing because I was constantly wandering the baby aisles.  The first thing I bought was a Red Sox blanket in pink, the day we found out we were having a girl.
  • I bought a Panda Bear stuffed animal that is soooo soft from Ikea. I figured it would be okay for a boy or a girl to have.
  • We received some gifts as early as 6w from DH's brother and wife.

The first thing we bought, and only thing we've bought so far is the crib/dresser/changing table combo.

  • I haven't bought anything yet for the LO! I guess I am still cautious (since I previously had a miscarriage) although I shoudl feel more confident at this point.

I have begun reading up on furniture, crib bedding, etc so I will start purchasing things very soon!

  • Nothing, but it's still really early. We're pretty sure we're going to stay Team Green so we'll just get the basics as we get closer and/or for my shower.
  • DH and I bought our respective favorite books from childhood from Borders so that we could share them with our child.
    Married in 2008 - DD born in 2010 - EDD 6.15.2012!
  • I've already bought some gender neutral outfits, as well as mine and DH's favorite childhood books. I don't believe that buying things early "jinxs" a pregnancy. Buy things when you want to.
  • I didn't really buy anything until the week before I had teh baby.  We bought one girl going home outfit and a boy going home outfit.  That was it.
