Re: christmas party ideas

  • I always like the idea of adopting a needy family or doing a toys for tots theme.
You could also have a cookie exchange or one of my favorites: Ugly Christmas Sweater Party.

  • We've done a big Christmas party the last couple of years. ?One thing I highlight is the Christmas decorations since I have an ivory and gold theme. ?I really fix the house up! ?I also do an Italian theme for food and wine so everything complements each other. ?I love to cook, so my food is definitely the highlight for our guests. ??I don't worry about gifts or games because the season is stressful enough as is.??To me a good Christmas party is about good food, good drinks, and good company.?

  • This past Christmas we did a cocktail party with an "Adult Beverage Gift Exchange"... we asked our guests to bring an adult beverage themed gift between $15 and $20 and had a prize for the best decorated brown paper bag wrapping. We had some creative exchange gifts -- beer steins and beer, champagne flutes and champagne, a flask with whiskey, and a "before, during, and after" kit that had cash for parking, a box of condoms, and a bottle of aspirin and a litre of water...

We exchanged white-elephant style. It was a hit!

  • Every year we have a new years eve party (and I kinda consider it a Christmas party because our decorations and tree are still up).  But, I just make (and buy) a ton of appetizers. And have big containers of hot apple cider and cocoa.  We just play games and talk all night. We don't do a real formal thing, its just a casual - fun night!
  • My favorite Christmas parties are ones with White Elephant gift exchanges! They always end up being really fun and great for a big group of people.

I also really like Pomegranate Martinis at Christmas parties. :)

I just wanted to wish you LOT'S of LUCK TTC! I also had an ectopic pregnancy back in 2006 and my left tube was removed. We started TTC in January 2008 and it took a little while and of course we got discouraged because it seemed like EVERYONE was getting pregnant. Finally it happened. I got a BFP in early June and I had my beautiful baby girl this past February.

     I will pray for you!!
