We spent $966.73 eating out in the month of June and $744.88 between our regular grocery store and walmart....WHAT THE HELL DID WE EAT???
Re: OMG...
Wow! Maybe this whole thing was a blessing in disguise since it's been so eye opening.

I agree.
This does include the 10 days when dh was working in florida and had to eat out, but still....

OMG in deed. I am scared to see what my eating out totals are. I am sure they are high.
I think for this month I will save my receipts and tally them up at the end of the month.
wow! it's really a slap in the face when you tally up all those little things. we're really getting crazy with it for the month of july. we rarely go out now, but a lot of times i get cabin fever and declare we must go somewhere
so instead..i've allotted $35 for us to go 2 meals out together during july and $15 for us to each get a lunch out with our coworkers. that way we plan for it and can look forward to it.
when K has to work out of town does he not have a mini fridge in his hotel? if so, he could take a loaf of bread..pb&j and that's like $6 for a week worth of meals
our problem is groceries. we always think of 'stocking up' so we buy a lot in bulk..we're stripping down to the bare minimum this month to get our grocery bill down. we're spending around $500 a month now! so for the month of july..a box of macaroni counts as supper. haha
He always goes to the grocery store when he's away to get bread, cold meat and drinks and I'm sure snacks, But they had to eat out for lunch this time around b/c the hotel was too far from the job. He did eat in for dinner a bunch of days, but sometimes he just had to get out. I don't blame him...I couldn't do it either.
Traveling really kills a budget quick. Steven tries to take stuff with him he can eat or buy groceries there, but he doesn't always have a fridge or microwave in his room (like the last 4 weeks). Thankfully the hotel has a free breakfast.
