lunch accident - good for a laugh

so, today for lunch one of the options was a breakfast sandwich.    LOVE breakfast, so I went for it.  Only thing it was fried eggs, and I hate runny yolk.  Haaaaaaaaaate.  So, I asked them to cook it through.  No problem, first half of the sandwich was heaven.  I sink a big bite into the second half and...........runny hot yolk SHOOTS across my desk, landing all over my computer, my face, my arm, my shirt (stupid boobs) and my lap.  I am literally covered in yolk.

I just look up stunned as my coworker looks up and bursts out laughing.  It was quite a walk to the kitchen to clean up all the yellow goo on me!

  • That is so gross.  I too hate runny yolks. I can only eat scrambled eggs just because of the runny yolk potential in other eggs :)

Who knew yolk had that much splatter potential though?

I hate the yolk too. Whenever I cook fried eggs I love smash the yolk to see it splatter.

  • It really was so vile.  But, also funny since I was covered.   I just found more in my hair.
  • LOL! Sorry you had a runny yolk!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  • I don't know if it's a midwestern thing or what, but DH and his entire family order their eggs over easy and dip their toast in the runny yolk. Ewww! They laughed at me when I called their eggs 'fried.' DH said fried eggs means the yolk is hard. Well, excuse me! That's the only kind of eggs (besides scrambled) that I've ever eaten! Stick out tongue
  • We do the same thing :) We called them poppy eggs when we were little and actually I sound dumb in a restaurant b/c I can never think of the technical term for them.
    Happiest place on Earth!
