Re: Can you tell me about 30 day shred? NFT

  • It's an interval training DVD with Jillian Michaels.

You do a warm up, then 3 x circuit of cardio (jumping jacks, running in place, etc), strength (push ups, chest press, squats, lunges), and abs, then a  cool down.
  • check out Ashlee's review on her blog.  She did a great job reviewing it.

  • I wrote this on Sparkpeople - I just love this dvd.

"I thought I was in fairly decent shape. I can do about 4 miles comfortably on the treadmill before I'm working super hard, etc. I thought I was fairly strong with weights, etc.

But Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred is kicking my butt so bad. I did it yesterday and today and I swear to you I am tight all over - I love it!

If you're interested in checking it out, see if you have it on your cable On Demand, or check out the teams for Jillian Michaels and 30 day Shred on my sparkpage.

For 30 days you do it every day! 10 days on Level 1, 10 on Level 2, 10 on Level 3. Apparently they say it's ok to work the muscle groups every day bc you're using so many muscle groups with each Level that it's ok. I guess vary the weight used from day to day or whatever.

A little about it: (you need handweights, I used 3 and 5)

The dvd has 3 levels, each level is 24 minutes, including a 1ish minute warmup and 1ish minute cooldown/stretch. The intervals go nonstop and are as follows for LEVEL 1:
    - 2 min cardio (jacks, run in place, jumprope w/o the rope...)
    - 3 min strength (things like squats with dumbell presses, lunges with curls, side lunges with forward shoulder raises, pushups)
    - 1 min abs

It's short enough that ANYONE can make time for it. And the dvd was super inexpensive and I got it at Borders for about 12 dollars. "

  • If you have Comcast ON DEMAND you can try them for free. I did one last week and it was killer!
  • we have time warner on demand, and for us, level 1 and 2 are available.
