Bloggers come in

It's slow today so I thought I would share some randomness...

My friend from HS whom I lost touch with after HS but re-connected with via myspace said I should start a blog. She lives up in Chico and I never get to see her. She seems so excited that I'm having a baby. It makes me happy because I didn't expect so much enthusiasm from her. for you bloggers how did you decide to start a blog? I feel like my life is boring and I wouldn't have anything to say. Did you feel the same? Are they pretty easy to maintain and keep up with.

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Bloggers come in

  • I totally felt the same way - that my life isnt all that exciting and I would have nothing to post. I really don't post that much, but it's nice to keep everyone updated with what's going on.Go for it!
  • I feel the same way. I started a blog but haven't published it yet. I think it is going to be a photography blog, because obviously that is my main interest (besides Eric). coming soon!

  • I was wondering why you didn't blog val. That explains do. :)
  • Val-totally start a photo blog! I would actively stalk you. Amy should too, maybe she will after Pierce is born. Maybe not since she'll be busy. It would be a great way for us to gush over him though...(HINT HINT AMY!)

Kristy-I don't have a lot to say in my blog either, but its fun. I wasn't sure i wanted to start one but someone *ahem BRANDY ahem* convinced me. Who knows, after you have the baby you might find yourself loving it. My SIL uses hers to tell everyone updates on the kids. That might be handy for you during pregnancy and aftery. I think you should do it.

  • I've tried to start a blog but I'm just not consistent about it. It's just like all those journals I tried to start when I was a kid. I'm good for a few weeks then drop it.

IF I do one it would be about Pierce/photography and more for him than anything I would put out for  I think it would be cool to try and do a picture a day blog for Pierce. It would force me to practice more with my camera. I just have major doubts that I will keep it up.

  • Jenn-I might end up doing one. I know H's grandma in Texas would read it. She never gets regular updates on us (or at least I don't think so) H wanted me to give her my myspace page. I don't think I will go that far. ;)

  • I'm not constant w/mine. :( but it's nice to just lay out your thoughts when you want to. :) just try it out & if you don't like it then just hit delete! let us know your linky when you decide to start one up :)
  • Amy-you could always do a picture a week. Or two pictures a week. Not that I'm trying to convince you or anything...ok I am. Do it do it!

Kristy-YEY! Do it! It'll be a good way to let everyone know what's going on with the pregnancy, like you can do a post about the crib and whatever. I've got the darn baby fever. I've got it bad, so feed my needs ok?

  • I think I just might. Hmmm...kinda scary. Feels like I need to get interesting now. ;)
  • I just started doing it as a journal for my TTTC journey.... I plan to continue it through the pregnancy and birth and everything... it's more for me than anything else....

I try to keep most of our fertility issues to Val and DH... this way I feel that I am getting my thoughts and emotions out of my system w/o forcing people to lisiten, but it's there if they want to read it.

Just get started and give it a try.. you can always delete it later : )

  • Thanks for the encouragement girls : ) Maybe I will publish it soon!!

I have to finish uploading my pictures from the session on Saturday! Hopefully I will get that done this afternoon, and maybe publish the blog tomorrow!

  • ok me = stupid. I haven't update the blog in a while, and I LOST it. I can't find it anywhere....

I am starting a fresh one RIGHT NOW!

  • another blogging question for the blogging gurus.

If I create a url for my blog now, can I change it later if I want?

  • I strated mine on LJ because I have a bunch of friends on there and it was an easy way to keep in touch with them. I just talk about random stuff, sometimes people comment, sometimes not, but I figure I like keeping the blog for me more than anything. I've always liked keeping a journal. Im just more careful about what I share. I din't have time to post often, which can get frustrating, but it's nice to have a place where I can just say whatever I want.
  • MELINDA! I miss you
  • well if you blog stalked her you wouldn't have to miss her. :p
  • Jenn..I keep up with your friends blog about sweet baby Kennedy. I send her out good thoughts everday.

Val - how could you not share this blog with me???

  • I don't was all pictures you have seen though. I am having a really hard time naming my blog now. All the names i want are taken.. : (
  • omg Brandy! Just for you, I will name my blog that! (If it isn't taken) HA! Hopefully I can change it later if I go into business!
  • It all really depends on what your purpose is. If you just want to just give updates on your pregnancy and family, I wouldn't worry about updating it very often.

For myself I wanted I wanted my blog to include updates for my parents sake (since they live so far away) but also to be entertainment to others not nessecarily close family or friends. On that level you need to blog quiet often and even I find it hard to come up with things to post. I am definitely finding it easier the longer I have had my blog to come up with ideas. I think your frequency of posts can definitely increase with time.

In the long run, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of your blog anyways so if you want go for it!

  • I started mine once I had Sarah that way my friends and family that live far away (which is pretty much everyone we know!) can see her progress.  I don't update it everyday, just when I think about it or if she does something cool/funny.  I totally think you should start one!

  • Oh Brandy. Thank you. That was just what I needed.

Val - don't you dare change it. Even when you go pro. No one will ever forget it! I think it might be the best name for a photo blog ever!

  • I don't have time to do my first post right now, but this is for Brandy!

    I will post tomorrow!

  • omg..........HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA

     i'm in love *swoon*

  • Brandy, you're a genius!

I can't wait to stalk your blog val. I'm adding it to my list right now.
