Corona Gals

Hey Girls,

I am sure you are wondering why I am on this Board. I am actually an Orange County Knottie getting married in March. I have posted on the IE knot board regarding making the move to Corona and we have decided to do so...very excited! I deicded to post on this board as we are going to TTC right after the wedding and I am looking for the best areas in Corona for families. We really want an area of a lot of young families, good schools and lots going on (parks, activities). Where should we look? We have been looking at houses off of Green River and Lincoln, but what area in Corona offers what we want?

 Thank you for your help!

Re: Corona Gals

  • Forget the parks and stuff.... you need to be looking at the schools and their API scores and report cards!!! That will give you a good idea of the area and where your kids are going to go to school

     http://www.cnusd.k12.ca.us/doschools.html

Click on the school and look at their "accountability report card" and see their demographics and test scores

Here is the boundary map for what school your kids will go to... there is a better one... try Googling CNUSD boundary map and see what comes up.

I would aim for your kids going to Santiago, Roosevelt or possible Centennial High schools (Go Huskies!! Whoot!!)

There is also a college prep HS on RCC's Norco campus that is good... and talk about building a new one near Temescal Valley (nice elementary)

I work at Parks off Limonite and it's NICE up there!!

Stay out of the "circle" and look at areas near those three high schools, they are nice.

The city isn't that big, traveling for events is minimal.

I would go to those HS and drive around, see if you like the drive to the freeway, the stores and the area... that's the best way to start.

    GL!!

  • DH and I moved to Corona from the SF Bay area 3 years ago.  We looked all over Corona and settled in the Wildrose development which is in the Temescal Canyon area (unincorporated part of Corona).  It's off the Weirick Road exit off the 15 on the west side of the freeway.  We're right around the corner from Temescal Canyon Elementary school.  It's quiet with families as well as some "older" retired couples.  We love it here!

If you have more questions about the area feel free to email me at lorikeenan at sbcglobal dot com.

They are on the right, after you turn off Knabe, the house with the Christmas lights up and on till Jan 7th.... across the street from the motor home that is always there!

That means that your DD will be going to the same elementary my sisters go to! It's a good school!!!
